Maggie Greenwald (born June 23, 1955 in Manhattan, New York) is an American film, television director and screenwriter. She is most recognized for writing and directing ''Songcatcher'' (2000) and ''The Ballad of Little Jo'' (1993). She also directed an adaptation of Jim Thompson's ''The Kill-Off'' starring an ensemble cast that includes Cathy Haase and the film debut of Jorja Fox.〔(Maggie Greenwald biography ) at Tisch School of the Arts website〕 Greenwald has also directed a number of television films as well as directing episodes of ''The Adventures of Pete & Pete'', ''The Mystery Files of Shelby Woo'' and ''Wildfire''.
